What does a Health and Safety Audit entail?
A Homestead Health and Safety company audit comprises a 60 point questionnaire, we will visit your site, carry out a full audit of your company, including a thorough review of your organisations Health and Safety Policy, Management Systems and procedures, and provide a report with identified gaps in compliance, and recommendations to rectify those gaps.
A site audit is no less comprehensive but obviously concentrates on what’s going on at site level.
What are the CDM Regulations 2015?
The CDM Regulations 2015 places duties on Clients for Construction work and other duty holders including Principal Contractors, Contractors, Designers and Principal Designers.
Homestead Health & Safety has extensive expertise in the Principal Designer role to advise and assist you to carry out your duties under the Regulations.
What is a competent person?
The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 requires all employers to appoint a competent person to help them meet their legal duties under Health and Safety legislation.
The competent person must have the skills, knowledge, and experience to recognise hazards in your workplace and define the controls required to protect your workforce and others from harm.
At Homestead Health & Safety, we may act as your competent person within a retained service tailored to your needs.
What happens if I don’t have a Competent Person?
Ultimately, you must get assistance from a competent person to enable you to meet the requirements of Health and Safety law. Under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, it is an explicit requirement for employers to appoint a competent person(s) to help them fulfil their legal duties related to Health and Safety Management and take all reasonable steps to keep people from harm.
